NK News Timeline — Launching Soon
The NK News Timeline is a chronological, searchable record of key DPRK events — giving you the historical context to understand not just what is happening now, but how you got here.
The Timeline feature is in active development and will be available to all NK News subscribers at launch. Members on active plans will receive access automatically.

A structured, searchable chronological record of significant North Korea events drawn from the NK News archive and curated by the editorial team: diplomatic events, weapons tests, leadership decisions, inter-Korean developments, sanctions milestones, and economic events.
Searchable by date range, event type, keyword, and significance level. Every event links to the full NK News coverage. Trace a developing story backwards through its history without manually excavating the archive.
Events are rated on a three-point significance scale: Major Events (nuclear tests, high-level summits, leadership changes), Notable Developments, and Standard Reporting. Filter to Major Events only for a high-level chronological narrative of the DPRK's most consequential moments.
Events are categorised by primary topic so you can filter the entire timeline to the issues most relevant to your work.
The research case
North Korea analysis without historical context is guesswork. Understanding why Kim Jong Un's behaviour in 2026 looks the way it does requires tracing decisions and events back months or years. The Timeline makes that research fast, structured, and reliable — without manually excavating an archive.
